An interview with…Linda Cronshaw

What attracted you to a career in the business travel sector?

In the early years, I was attracted to the glamorous reputation of the travel industry. I began working as a corporate travel buyer at the age of 25, progressing to senior sales executive at Thistle Hotels. As my industry expertise grew, I was inspired to create my own specialist hotel and venue finding business – Executive Status.

Whilst the industry may have lost a touch of its glamour, I never tire of the variety of exciting challenges presented to me every day.

How do you feel the industry has progressed in recent years?

Globalisation and the continuous evolution of technology have changed the industry dramatically. There has been a huge increase in the number of people travelling on business, and travellers can easily book and access travel itineraries on the go.

Nowadays, the industry is focused on the instant availability of all travel information and I’m excited to watch the sector continue to innovate.

What’s your favourite part of the job?
